eb 0 Progress and CAD assembly

After the sanding was completed, we used some high-quality filler resin to fill in the gaps around the hack job logo.

Sand it down to reveal the pearl and level off the surface.

Then do the same for the points and the crown on the top, as the sharpness was sanded away in the previous refurbishing effort.

Sand again carefully around the filled areas.

We decided to go ahead and replace the frets, as they have been played hard since '69.

I'm starting to get excited about how it's shaping up. It's going to be brand new with original components. Awesome!

As for the CAD machine, we got it up and running yesterday. It took a little jerry-rigging from Don to get the thing to act right, but we think we've got it. Production resumes!

On a side note Don had to slaughter two snakes while they were making serpent love. This has got to be a good sign, right? Also the AC is out at the shop. Yeah. Poor Don.

You know what might look nice...

Black with a tortoise shell pickguard on the eb 0. It would be different yet traditional. Hmm...

Prince Cloud Clone

Don's doing a Prince Cloud guitar clone for an impersonator. The guitar is an impersonation, too.

Yeah, time to sand. Yeah, sanding.

'69 ebo pt.2

OK, got her naked now I just need to strip her down and sand her. That reminds me of a joke from buddy Paul Lechner. I like my women like I like my coffee... Ground up and in the freezer. Not sure where Paul is now.

According to the pocket colors, it looks like she used to be Cherry Red! Don't think I'll do that, though. Too common. Right now I'm thinking red and black, but I'll discuss with D and see. Headstocks been really jacked up, so maybe I'll put a super retro Gibson logo on there. Gonna replace the bridge and nut and whatever else is not too serviceable, otherwise I will try and keep the original junk.

Gonna go out to the shop tonight to start the process and check out what Don's been up to.

OK, Watt's got me wanting to fix up the shorty bass. Probably needs a new bridge and paint. I'll leave everything else stock. Now, what color?

Still Waiting...

We are anxiously awaiting word as to what the issue is with our CNC equipment. Hopefully we will know soon. It's like Tom Petty sings, the waiting is the hardest part. Well, the sanding is a bitch, too. Maybe I'll write that song.
