Show Countdown Report #2

This photo shows the CAD work we did last night for the SST. The purple line items are the pockets for the controls. Starting at the top: Pup switch, wire trench, knob locations, and light switch locations. A kill switch will be installed on this particular model, and that's the circle behind the bridge.

A model view so we can see the switch locations in 3D.

While I was doing up the CAD, Don was finishing the control routes and edge relief bevels on the fronts of the JBs. This batch is turning out to be really nice.

  1. I'm continuing the exciting history of the SST. I wonder if the mast will be "classic" as this type:

  2. Cyclon,
The headstock is going to look like this.

It's a blend of our JazzBlaster headstock design and the traditional tele designs.

  3. Sorry for my english.
I refer to the neck, thickness, weight, size and form.

It seems that the Mr.Fralin knows that the fat ones sound well : "To my ears a bigger neck improves the tone of most guitars."

    Keep in mind for telecasters.

  4. Cyclon,
These SST's are going to have the Bell signature neck which is geared towards comfort all the way up and down the neck as opposed to the older, thicker neck shapes of traditional teles.

We think the acrylic on this guitar will influence the tone much more than the size of the neck shape. But it's all unknown until we strike the strings!
